C is for Christmas (1.07.2006)

Siyempre di ko namalayan na malapit na pala mag-christmas... sobrang ibang-iba from the previous yuletide celebrations... dati kasi August pa lang eh nag-sisimula na kami mag-Christmas shopping. This year, di ko namalayan na eto na sya... na-realize ko na lang na "aba Christmas na pala" a week before. Hay, kasi syempre di nila sine-celebrate ang Christmas dito. Sure there are some stores na may mga Christmas decors pero kakaunti lang yun. And when you're leading a very busy life, subtle hints (although dyan sa Pinas, I don't think you can use the word subtle to describe the decors that people put out) like these sure help a lot... Atchaka yung mga symbols for Christmas... nakoh completely lost on them... di nila alam kung bakit may wreath, santa clause, christmas tree, etc...

Hay, mas clueless pa sila sa taong hibang noh! Just to show you how completely clueless they are eh tingnan nyo naman ito... merong set of English storybooks na sine-circulate throughout Taiwan. The concept behind these storybooks is to provide a story for each letter... so kumbaga sa letter A eh story about ants, letter P ... story about pigs, letter z... story about a zebra... so on and so forth... hulaan nyo kung nasa-anong letter ang Christmas... ding..ding..ding..dong.. sympre nsa letter X! HELLO!!! as in H-to the-E-to the-eLo-eLo-O noh! Talaga namang akala nila na Xmas talaga yun at hindi x'mas na shortcut for Christmas... pero 'di mo rin sila masisisi kasi syempre its not part of their culture di ba. Pero naman...naman...naman! to come out with a book with X is for Xmas is really DUH! dapat mag-research muna especially when you're selling something for educational purposes... kaya ako di ko ginagamit yung mga books na yun ... kakahiya... mamaya akalain pa nila na ako yung bumili... eh di napauwi ako ng di oras dyan kasi wala ng gusto magpaturo sa akin ng english!

So in conclusion, I just want to reiterate.... C is for Christmas!!!!
